I am a proud owner of a smart phone. With this phone a new world has opened up for me. No longer do I have to wonder what the temperature is at that exact moment. I am no longer wonder WTF Pandora is and best of all - I can change the channel for any comcast user as longer as I know their email address and password. The Comcast App was especially great on April Fool's Day when I used it on my mom's TV. If you have ever met my mom you probably know that any kind of technology 'issues' are the bane of her existence.
Having all these wonderful apps has also made me lazy. Instead of having to actually entertain my children, I can now hand them my phone and teach them how to play the finger drums, guitar or Angry Birds. I no longer have to figure out what toys to pack to go to the Drs office - because I have an app for that!
I love watching Mickey Mouse with Suzie. I am in love with the Handy Helpers and Toodles. They are miracle inventions that I wish I could have. If there is a mess - the Handy Helpers will clean it up. Stuck on the roof with no way down? Just call for Toodles and chances are, he will have a giant marshmallow for you to jump down on. I have to wonder - if Mickey had a smart phone, would Toodles and the Handy Helpers be out of a job?
Could having apps for everything actually have an effect on the economy? Could my laziness actually have a direct cause and effect on the national debt? Am I THIS important?? Naaaahhhhh - but I am sure this is an app out there that could let me know...
